Much like the U.S. president, who has an executive office consisting of various bureaucratic agencies and professional staff who assist the president in furthering his administration’s agenda, the Texas governor has an executive office of approximately 140 professional staff who assist the governor in carrying out the duties of the office and supporting the governor’s policy goals. The Office of the Texas Governor is currently divided into 16 divisions, each of which has a specific focus:
